Righting Frame

A righting frame is basically a pole which is attached to the bottom of the front crossbeam by a universal joint. It can be a rectangular shape, as Alan had on his Hobie 17 Turbo, a triangular shape, as Alan had on his Inter 20, or a simple carbon pole, triangulated with rope as Alan had on his Spitfire.

OooopsDamn, blast & b****r it

When the cat capsizes, the frame is pulled out so that it is 90 degrees from the trampoline. Then it is down to Alan and his crew, depending on the conditions to hang off the pole. The weight pulls the cat back up. The pole naturally goes back to near the water's surface as the cat sails off and then it is a simple process to fix it back up under the trampoline with a piece of shock cord.
