ZOE

   Zoe, Summer 2010 (age 5)

April 2008: Zoe can ride a bike. She got going first go on her Isla Bike - no stabilisers ever used. She had a Like A BIke for a year or so before this and the theory says 'if you learn to balance a bike, then it is easy to learn to pedal one' - the theory is most certainly right.

Zoe was delivered by Debs Rhodes, an independent midwife from the Wharfedale Independent Midwifery Practice. If you are within about 50 miles of Ilkley and considering an independent midwife, we'd have no hesitation in recommending her - she was brilliant.

Al's New Wheelchair
Is this the best wheelchair ever? Al certainly thinks so. It is by far the lightest wheelchair he has ever had. It fits far better, is more compact and has the most minimalist frame imaginable. It is the latest wheelchair from Bromakin and not only does it have a fixed back, but the back rest tube simply curves up from the main frame, minimising the weight further - neat. Al was fed up of saggy seat slings so went for a rigid carbon fibre one instead.

Go on, buy one!

Cycling News

Al's carbon frame is up and running - the 'C proto' has done over 100 hilly trouble free miles so far. In October 2010 it was fitted with a narrow rear axle and narrow cranks and taken to the University of Plymouth's Composite Department for a final year student to build a streamlined full fairing for it.
