Paradox Wins Round Britain and Ireland Race!

Paradox, skippered by Matt Baker and Rob Husbands has won the Two-Handed Round Britain and Ireland Race. Finishing off the job, that Al started 8 years ago, Matt and Rob displayed excellent seamanship pull off a fantastic result. On the leg to Lerwick they rode out a Force 10 - at times Paradox was doing 17knots under bare poles, so they streamed 300 feet of rope over the stern to bring the speed down to a steady 7knots. On the fourth leg to Lowestoft, they took a huge chunk of time out of the 50ft and 40ft trimaran that were ahead of them in the race, which set them up for a 'thrilling' final leg. A lack of wind on this leg for all the leaders, made for a nail biting finish, with Paradox eventually winning by 40 minutes on handicap. SUPERB!!!!

2000

The year 2000 proved to be a quiet year for Paradox. The only 'race' entered was the Round the Isle of Wight jolly - the highlight of which was seeing Playstation on the start line.

1999

Paradox was borrowed by Team Ronin for the Fastnet Race & they sailed the pants off her! They were 27th (out of 300+ boats) to the Rock and finished 41st and 2nd in class after parking in a wind hole on the return.

1998

Paradox entered the Two-Handed Round Britain & Ireland Race. The highlight was the reach across to Crosshaven from Bishops Rock in big winds and big seas. We were 8th on the first leg out of 42 boats and beat Ellen McArthur in an Open 50 monohull by over 2 hours.
